ANGELOS SPARTALIS

At the end of the 19th century, Divisionism was introduced as a result of Seurat's studies on visual experience and the Impressionists' transforming realities. For him, inspiration was to be found in light and nature. Today, Spartalis draws his, from TV shots and photojournalism. Humor is always present in his mediation; but so is something much deeper, as he engages in dialogue not only with History, but also with individual human stories. Through the artist's primal emotion, he ponders upon the planet's faith; he brings the recent sinking of our country to mind, and innocently dreams of tomorrow.
